Trasladar la innovación a los quirófanos es ahora su mayor aspiración. No en vano es director del Programa de Innovación del Plan Estratégico de I+D+I en Salud de la Junta de Andalucía. Sus estudios se centran en la realidad virtual y su nuevo reto es ahora preparar un nuevo trasplante singular, esta vez de manos.
