Loading...Carmen Maroto nació en 1938 y es Catedrática de Microbiología y Parasitología de la Universidad de Granada. Fue la primera mujer en ingresar en la Real Academia Nacional de Medicina, y la única hasta el año pasado. También fue la primera mujer en ingresar en la Real Academia de Medicina de Granada, donde además ha sido presidenta durante ocho años. Carmen formó parte durante once años del jurado de investigación de los Premios Príncipe de Asturias de Investigación Científica y Técnica. El virus del SIDA ha sido y es una de las líneas de investigación en las que se ha volcado el equipo de investigadores en el que está integrada.
