Juan Miguel González es el último legado del lutier Antonio de Torres quien está considerado el padre de la guitarra moderna. Desde muy temprana edad el almeriense aprendió de su padre el esmerado oficio de lutier. Con tan sólo 15 años hizo su primera guitarra siguiendo la técnica y maestría de Antonio de Torres, constructor de la guitarra moderna, tal y como su padre le enseñó. En su trabajo combina la tradición y la investigación , componentes que le han llevado a lograr que sus guitarras, clásicas y de flamenco,  tengan un sonido muy especial. Para alcanzarlo han transcurrido muchos años de estudio de los que se ha servido, en parte, de su formación en solfeo.
