Cuando tenía 7 años se apuntó a ajedrez solo por el hecho de ocupar su tiempo libre tras las clases y practicar alguna actividad. En ese momento desconocía todo sobre un juego que hoy se ha convertido en el motor de su vida. Ana Redondo es una almeriense de adopción que ha conseguido ser campeona de España de ajedrez sub 18, perteneciendo a la categoría sub 16.

No rendirse nunca en las partidas por más complicadas que se pongan  le ha servido además para ser varias veces campeona de Andalucía.  También está propuesta para la selección nacional con la que espera competir en la Olimpiada de ajedrez.  Pertenece al Club Ajedrez Reverté  Minerals de Almería.
