Estudió en la Escuela de Hostelería de Granada y hoy forma parte del equipo español de cocina. Nicolás Chica ha sido parte de la primera incursión del conjunto español en las Olimpiadas de la cocina, celebradas en Alemania en 2016, donde el equipo nacional se hizo con la medalla de bronce. Desarrolla su cocina en el restaurante La Milagrosa Irreverente de Granada, y en 2014 ya participó como chef asistente en el Bocuse d’Or, el certamen de cocina más importante del mundo. Apuesta por una cocina que mezcla tradición y modernidad, hecha siempre con productos kilómetro 0.
