Creció al arrullo de las olas del mar en el marinero pueblo almeriense de Garrucha. En su niñez permaneció dos años encerrado en casa debido a una parálisis facial. Allí, en la habitación en la que su padre guardaba los utensilios de pesca, aprendió a dibujar impregnado del olor del mar. No es por tanto de extrañar que este pintor que muestra su obra por medio mundo refleje en cada cuadro la luz, las costumbre, el mar y la calima de su tierra. Para expresar su sentimiento ante el lienzo en blanco utiliza la espátula convirtiendo su técnica en única, según los expertos en arte. Con ella depura la pintura hasta que el lienzo, casi puro, forma parte también de la obra. Nueva York, Pekín, Tokio o París se rinden ante su obra que refleja la luz y las transparencias como pocos saben.
