Con seis años jugando en la calle de su barrio, La Cañada de San Urbano de Almería, le preguntaron si se quería apuntar a la Agrupación Musical San Indalecio y no dudó en hacerlo. Rubén González ganó en 2015 el International Trumpet Days Competition, Trumpet Talents de Estonia y se le abrieron muchas puertas. Ha tocado con la Orquesta Filarmónica de Madrid o la Nacional de España y en la actualidad lo hace en la de Mallorca, lugar donde imparte su experiencia con jóvenes alumnos en el Conservatorio Superior de Música de Islas Baleares, a los que les enseña a que disfruten tocando.
