Cristóbal Calderón es hijo de uno de los fundadores de Construcciones Calderón. Su última apuesta se centra en Guinea Ecuatorial donde, tras realizar varios  trabajos para el Ministerio de Educación, se ha involucrado en la renovación integral de la Formación Profesional dentro del sistema educativo de ese país.
