Cinco años es lo que ha tardado la joven almeriense María Dolores López en pasar de dar pelotazos contra un muro a convertirse en la primera jugadora de tenis española que logra el título de Roland Garros sub 13. Su primera raqueta se la regaló su abuela por su cumpleaños. La misma que poco después, cuando abrieron la Escuela Municipal de Tenis de Los Molinos, en su barrio, le dio 30 euros para que se apuntase a las clases.  Desde entonces su carrera ha sido meteórica. Cuenta con dos subcampeonatos de España y dos de Andalucía. Además ha estado jugando en varias ocasiones con la selección española de Tenis Alevín. Su sueño es ser número uno mundial y para ello cuenta con su mejor arma: una derecha letal.
