Marion Reder decidió estudiar filología germana, pero no duró ni una jornada. El mismo día que comenzó sus clases descubrió, en otra aula, que la Historia era su mundo. Y a ella ha dedicado todos estos años. Es Catedrática de Historia Moderna en la Universidad de Málaga, en la que se doctoró en Filosofía y Letras con Premio Extraordinario en 1985. Un año antes, fue Premio Málaga de Investigación. La Guerra de la Independencia centra ahora sus estudios. En su tarea científica, parecida a la de los detectives, encontró un manuscrito perdido de unas 800 páginas del Ayuntamiento de Málaga, que se editó en 2013.
