Gaditano, de ‘Cai, cai’, del barrio de la Viña. Conocer el origen del cantaor David Palomar es imprescindible para conocer su cante. Porque él es ‘caletero’ y emana su gaditanía en su arte y en su talante. El ser doble premio nacional de Arte Flamenco en Córdoba lanzó su carrera como cantaor en 2007 y, desde entonces, ha sido reclamado por festivales internacionales y ha firmado ya tres discos de su puño y letra. Y esta expresión es muy literal porque la mayoría de los temas han sido compuestos por Palomar, en su firme propósito de aportar nuevas letras al mundo flamenco y, sobre todo, imprimir en su cante un compromiso social.  Premio Joven otorgado por la Cátedra de Flamencología de Cádiz y nombrado Gaditano del Año en 2012 por el Ateneo Literario, Artístico y Científico de Cádiz, fue este el modo de reconocerle su labor en la recuperación de cantes gaditanos. Palomar tiñe su repertorio de innovación y tradición, no en vano el título de su último trabajo es Denominación de Origen. Y de su origen algunos datos: corista del grupo El Barrio, integrante de éxito a sus tiernos 18 años de Levantito, una formación de flamenco fusión que tuvo a Miguel Bosé como padrino y cantaor acompañante de grandes bailaores y tocaores como Cristina Hoyos, Javier Barón, Farruquito o Vicente Amigo.
