Ramón González es un almeriense natural de la localidad de Viator que en 2017 ha recibido la Medalla de Andalucía por su labor en el campo de los sistemas automáticos de robots móviles y vehículos autónomos.

Licenciado en Ingeniería Informática por la Universidad de Almería y doctor en Robótica, su periplo profesional, tras pasar por la Universidad de Zaragoza donde ejerció de profesor, le llevó en 2014 al Instituto Tecnológico de Massachusetts . Allí trabaja en proyectos I+D para la NASA, en posibles misiones a Marte, y para la OTAN en un software de simulación de vehículos militares.
